    Real Estate (Rent to own)
I was making a joint rent to own purchase and left 4 years ago but never removed my name. How Can I remove my name legally? The house is in Texas I have been out of state for the most part.

    Two things come to mind:
First, what happened to your equity? You didn't just walk away and abandon your contract?
Second, the contract would likely need rewritten with only the remaining signers.
Do you have anyone representing you in your absence?

If you and the other person had a contact, it is still valid and you could still be held responsible for payments.

BUT... also you are still gaining equity with the other person paying.

So you need to get them to re-write the contract taking your name off. Most likely you will need to sign over any rights to this to the other buyer.
