I need information emailed non-formal notice to vacate within next two weeks
 Flip side to this question. My cousin is the landlord I have been staying in her house she told me I would not have to pay rent and now she wants me to move out. What are my rights under the law. Can I stay and swat? Each room in this house is rented out by someone from another country does it matter if they are not citizens. We where told we have to leave in 2 weeks. My cousin is kicking us all out. There are five people living here who do in fact pay her rent each month. Any help would be great. Thanks

Usually a landlord has to serve a 30 or 60 day notice, so 2 weeks doesn't seem right. You probably don't have a lease seeing as you are staying free, do the other roommates? Check the renters right for your state. Is she selling the house ot just kicking you out so she can rent it for more money.

Assuming there is no lease, then there is a periodic tenancy. This means that the landlord has to give notice equal to one rental period, but sometimes less. Without knowing what state you are in or what arrangements she has with the other tenants, we can't advise further.

In your case, since you don't pay rent. She may be able to give you the minimum notice required by law for your area.
