    Do I have a binding lease ?
We have sent a signed lease with specific terms enclosed in the lease. A 15,000 dollar check was enclosed with the lease for security deposit. We have been giving keys. The lease shows 3000 sq foot available and the landlord is given 500 sq foot in the lease and we are to have 2500sq foot. Now the landlord want to use 700 sq foot and still keep the monthly rent at the 2500sq foot agreement. The landlord didn't send a copy of the lease back signed but has cashed the check and his agent gave us the keys. I believe that the building is ours and the 2500 sq foot in the lease is ours. The landlord believes he can change the lease terms. Please advise. I am in the state of California.

You have 2500 sq ft, If they wish to have more, they will have to reach an agreement with you. If they take more, they will be in breach of the contract and gives you reason to move or sue them for damages.
