Divorced: exwife has house, I'm still on mortgage/title
Ex-wife and I divorced 9 years ago. We had (have) a house together - I just wanted to get out so didn't bother getting her to refinance or to sell the house. So, I still have my name on the mortgage and title. Meanwhile, 9 years later, she's been late on almost every payment and won't/can't refinance.

From the research I've done it seems my best bet is a lawyer - a real estate lawyer is going to be thousands, which I don't have. Can I force the sale of the house?

    Any help is appreciated...

What did the divorce agreement say she was to do?

It is hard but you will need that attorney if you are going to try and force a sell

Unfortunately nothing - it was uncontested. Hindsight's 20/20...

The best case scenario would be that she would just refinance (her partner has been paying the mortgage since I left and it would benefit him to get his name on the title, instead of mine).

Worst case scenario - we (my now-wife and me) have to hire a lawyer to get my name off the mortgage and title. Seems redundant when she could just refinance, but...

I have gone back and forth with her over the years, trying to push her to sell/refinance, but not only is she stubborn and job-less, but also bipolar and unreasonable, at times.
