I am from California and it depends on where you are renting. One place might charge $100.00 while another will charge up to $500.00. The deposit is mainly for cleaning and damage purposes the animals may have caused while you were living there. Some places if there is no cleaning or damage may refund your money while others won't. Like I said it depends on where and who you are renting from.

PA non refundable deposit [ 1 Answers ]

My landlord is trying to charge me a non-refundable pet deposit. I read that it is illegal in PA to charge a non-refundable deposit. My original lease stated I was allowed a cat/dog no bigger than 40lbs. And there was no mention of a pet deposit or a pet fee per month. Thanks, Matt
