I know an outgoing girl from Delhi named Shachi. I also know a quiet and very businesslike one named Manisha.

I'll ask Shachi what names she recommends.

Wondergirl, Are you thinking Native American Indians can't be book loving, composed, wild, party animal, fun loving and very bubbly?

I'm guessing the OP wants East Indian names (much more visible people than American Indians), but she hasn't returned to confirm that. You may very well be correct. Then we'd try Wenona ("first-born daughter") and maybe this list --

Native American Names and Meanings Pg 1

At work we all voted on a list of names that Shachi was considering for her unborn son. She wanted an East Indian name that Americans could pronounce. We ended up with Abhijay -- Ab or Abe or Jay for short.

I had a college dormmate who was born and raised and lived on an Apache reservation. She was quiet and sweet, not a party animal at all. Can't remember her first name though. And we were at a Christian college, so being a "party animal" was nothing we knew about.

We still don't know which kind of Indian you mean -- American Indian or East Indian. (We never indicated that either kind of Indian cannot be any or all of what you said.)

You need a storyline, characters, a setting (where the story takes place), and you need to know before you even start writing how the story is going to end.

Thank you, but that's not what we were trying to figure out. To Americans, East Indians are the people from the country of India. American Indians are native to North America. The names differ quite bit between the two Indian cultures, so it's important to know which country we are talking about, India or America.

Finding a book title--I know plot, setting, characters names [ 2 Answers ]

So I'm trying to find a book I read about 15 years ago and I can't remember the author or the title. I believe it is a Silhouette Desire book. Most likely published in the 80's or early 90's. I know what the cover looked like--It was a man (I think on a lounge chair by the pool) with his wife...

Characters in file names for web use [ 1 Answers ]

I understand the space no-no. I'm replacing all spaces in file names with the underscore. I know the problem with caps too.. How about dashes? Are dashes OK? Are there any other standard US keyboard stuff that I should look for to replace with something else? Thanks!
