Tricky problem. You built the wall, so you can unbuild it. But sometimes that takes a while. When you deny your gift, can you ever get it back 100%? Maybe, maybe not. If you can't get it back exactly as it was, you still can get it back in a transformed way, and maybe better in the end.
The Bible speaks about gifts of the Spirit. Some churches (Catholic, for one) call them "charisms." So if they believe these things exist, why don't they do something about it? Why not set up a parochial version of Hogwarts and teach the kids who are born with these God-given talents? Sigh. Ok, that's my rant for the day.
Your gift is neither evil nor un-Christian. Although a fair number of people with psychic abilities end up turning to either Eastern or Neo-Pagan traditions simply because the Christian traditions just don't give them any help in handling their gifts. So pray about it, trust Jesus to guide you. Ask Him to help you use your gift to help people (living or dead) according to His will. But don't go around talking to other Christians about it. You might occasionally find a kindred soul, but you will also find a lot of people who misunderstand and who will give you a lot of wrong-headed advice, or who just reject you outright.
You might want to look into Christian mysticism. Or learn shamanism. Core shamanism is like music. Music can be used in almost any religion, but it doesn't belong to any one, and music in and of itself is neither pro-religion or anti-religion. Same with shamanism. It's merely a way of entering a light trance where your mind is tuned in to the frequency that these spirits are operating on, so you can communicate better with them.
One key component of shamanism (and a whole bunch of other traditions that don't call themselves shamanism but are similar) is the idea of the spirit guide. You may be able to use your gift of communicating with the dead to communicate with your guardian angel. It may or may not appear to you in the form of an animal. Or there may be a deceased person you've communicated with in the past who is very wise and good. If so, ask that person for advice on how to proceed.
With regard to your wall, I'm guessing that a large chunk of it is built of fears that what you are doing is contrary to your faith. Just pray and say, "God, I think this is a gift from You. If not, please give me a clear sign that it is not, and please make it obvious enough that I can be sure it is a sign." Otherwise, you are good to go. But it still takes a while to let go of lingering doubts. But your gift is only evil if you use it for evil. If you communicate with the dead to help comfort them, to help them find their way to God, to let them know they are still loved and understood, then it is not evil. Do you know the Prayer of St. Francis? It is a prayer asking God to make you an instrument of His Peace. Just do exactly what it says in the prayer and you will be fine. Even if, hypothetically, your gift came from the devil, wouldn't the devil be pissed if you used it only for good? That would show him! ;)
With regard to Emily, this is a good time of year to be getting in touch with her. All Souls Day, in the Christian tradition. Does her gravestone list her birth or death dates? You might want to do something special to honor her on either of those dates, if not at this time of year. In the Latin American tradition, you could bring food to her graveside. You can do that any time, but special dates work best. Then just sit down and break bread with her. Show her love and caring and respect. Jesus said, "Whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers and sisters, you do for me." Well if ghosts aren't the "least" than who is? Heck, they're so least they're transparent!
Blessings.
