printer low/no ink bypass or reset lexmark x2690
Good day to all, Does anyone have any idea how to reset or bypass low/no ink alarm on Lexmark x2690? With a tight budget I tried to saving money by refilling the cartridge. I filled it as instructed but I still get the alarm. So far I have removed the printer driver and reinstalled it hoping the system default to its original stage; I have tried this several times with all possible setups or options but no avail. I would appreciate any constructive feedback in resolving this matter. Thank you in advance for anyone's reply.

Lexmark does not support the refilling of cartridges.

This site does not allow the hacking of manufacturer's proprietary code to bypass locks.

Thanks Mr. Donf for your reply, I did'nt know of policy. I don't want to hack into anything, I just wanted to clear alarm and hoping to save money in reilling my own cartridge. This printer in question; the ink will cost more than the printer in itself; in the mean time I'll look for a printer on sale, because kind of hard for pay for new ink when buying a new printer is cheaper; Again, thanks for your reply.

    Herick,

The alarm is being tripped by the internal code of the printer, which has already been told that this cartridge is empty.

Lexmark uses similar code on their lasers to protect the printer toner cartridges. I'm much more familiar with that level of code then I am with the ink families.
