    Can't get printer to work
    I have a hp deskjet 5850 printer a I'm not able to get it to program with my computer. I have windows xp

    As Clough said we need more info about what you tyried and what happened when you tried. Error messages etc.

    When I turn the printer on it says computer has found new hardware then the wizard box comes on and I go through all the steps, when I get to the step when it ask me what kind of printer do I have I enter the name and model number of the printer then it will ask me do I have a disk or do I want to update and install program from Microsoft web page I install from Microsoft web page it then tells me software cannot be found do I want to browse for software I then click yes. When it takes me to downloads from the web page I click on download software and the only error message I get is unable to install software but it won't tell me why and I don't know where to go to but the disk or order it because the computer won't let me order online

    You should be able to download the correct driver from the above link

    Also, remember that the printer must not be connected to the computer until the instructions tell you to connect it.

    I just got a new tower and had to go through downloading my HP printer drivers.
