I can't say it hasn't been done before, many times in fact. I hope our obgyn nurse J-9 will tune in and give you more detail, but to be quite truthful, as long as you are healthy happy and have a good mindset to handle the workload you will be facing with two young ones, then I don't think there is much problem. Look at it this way, they will be almost growing up together and almost reaching the same goals together and you are in the driver's seat mom... good luck and I hope this is where you wanted to be in your life.

Most of all, have you discussed this conundrum with your doctor so he/she is prepared as well ?

We don't have an ob/gyn on board but many can help you out with this question.

The main risk could be a premature birth. This is not absolute of course, just something they will monitor. Most women will go onto have a normal, healthy pregnancy.

Not sure if this is the circumstances for you, but are you breastfeeding your first baby? If so, you may find your first child notices a change in the taste of the breastmilk. Most often they continue without a problem, but sometimes it takes them a bit to adjust. It is fine to continue nursing while pregnant for most women.

Do continue to take your prenatal vitamins, eat well, and rest when you can (not easy, I know!). If need be, have your partner, a friend, family member, or babysitter watch your first child once in awhile so that you can catch up on sleep if necessary. This may become even more important and helpful later in your pregnancy.

    Congrats!
