I am currently 36 weeks pregnant and have been suffering from hemmerhoids probably from about 20 weeks pregnant. I noticed a flap of skin hanging from my anus. As the weeks have gone by, more and more flaps have developed and are very painful and it is hard to clean around my anus because of them. The have cauliflower texture and I believed them to be skintags resulting from the hemmerhoids. However at my last doctors appointment my doctor mentioned that they look like anal warts. I was shocked because I have always tested negative for std tests and I have never had any history of this. She said there is nothing we can do until I deliver the baby. They look like swollen blue/purple bumps with the cauliflower type flap attached to them. They are pink in colour.
I really don't want it to be anal warts. Is there any way that they are just skin tags that can eventually be removed?

Unfortunately, wanting and not wanting something to be something doesn't work.

I would trust the Physician who actually saw them. You can, of course, always get a second opinion.

I am reading that some forms of anal warts are the same strain of wart that you get on your hands, not sex (STD) related. Did your Physician mention this?

Sounds like something awful to be going through - let's hope they are a simple matter to get rid of!
