    Questionable viability of gestational sac
I had a transvaginal ultrasound after I experienced bleeding three days ago. I am five weeks pregnant. The result said, "questionable viability of gestational sac." I also experience pain in my lower back, and stabbing pain in my right lower abdomen. Am I having a troubled pregnancy? What do I need to do?

Unfortunately there is nothing you can do but wait. They probably said "questionable" because 5w is very early (too early for a heartbeat) and you have bleeding. So, they're questioning if the pregnancy will last. Did they suggest progesterone? You might want to call and ask...

If it helps you feel better, I had bleeding for several weeks into the pregnancy with my daughter and besides being preemie (totally unrelated) she was perfectly fine. Good luck to you!
