My husband and I had unprotected sex a couple days before my ovulation (I know sperm can survive a couple days in our bodies) and now I'm four days late. I've never had an irregular period, and I keep track of my periods and ovulation on an app on my phone. Last week I had horrible back pains that I would feel in my Lowe thighs and abs. The other day I got a weir craving for cheesecake and tortilla chips... I used tortilla chips as a spoon to eat my cheesecake. I keep getting intense cravings for spaghetti and Sunkist, both of which I absolutely hate. My boob hurt so bad and I kept getting headaches and light headed, but my HPT keep coming back negative. Today I am spotting. Am I testing too soon or is my period just late? This would be our first child so I'm new to this. Where do I go from here.

The only thing you can do is wait. If you miss your next period then try testing again. What sort of pregnancy test have you taken? Urine (home pregnancy test), or a blood test at your doctors office?

Both can give a false negative, but it's less likely with a blood test.

If you're using an hpt (home pregnancy test), are you following the directions exactly? Are you using first morning urine?

It could be too early to test, so right now you'll have to play the waiting game.
