I'm due for a c-section Dec 28th, this past week I've had terrible contractions, a lot of pain, and today woke very weak, tired, and just feel weird. I've done Epsom salt baths almost nightly, drank a lot of water, try resting as much as possible, but I know it's probably not enough. Should I be worried? This is my 3rd baby, just been awhile. I'm trying to make it entire pregnancy this time not rushing off to hospital every 5 minutes

Have you called your OB? I'd call your Dr. first, then the hospital where you are scheduled to deliver with these questions. They can decide whether you need to come in for a check.

No, I haven't called my ob even, mainly Cuz I don't want to be a bother or anything. I know I can get a shot to stop the contractions, but like I said, I'm really trying to not do that

Contractions that don't evolve are braxton hicks, they're part of pregnancy, and most women go through them. They feel like the real deal and first time moms often think they are the real thing and rush to the hospital. As a third time mom you should know the difference, and if you don't, then you should go to the hospital.

If you refuse to go to the hospital, here's an easy way to differentiate between braxton hicks and real contractions. If they're just braxton hicks and you've had them for days or weeks, and you don't deliver a baby, then they're not contractions, they're just braxton hicks.

Pain in the last part of pregnancy? You don't say! Really? You're the only woman that's ever felt that (sarcasm). Pain in the last part of pregnancy is normal. If you're worried about the pain you're feeling, talk to your doctor, that's what he/she is there for, that's what you're paying for.

Bottom line, online we don't know if you're in labor, if there's something going on that you should be concerned about. We can't deliver babies on the internet. So talk to your doctor if you have concerns, and if you refuse to do that, then just live with what you're going through and hope for the best.

I do hope that you have been checked out at your delivering hospital by now.

I am a labor and delivery nurse. I cannot advise you over the telephone or via the internet other than to say a nurse or doctor needs to lay eyes on you and do a physical exam. Giving you advice other than being seen could be hazardous to the health of you and your baby.

I tell patients ALL. THE. TIME that I would rather send you home 100 times than for you to stay at home and eith have your baby on the side of the road driving in, or a multitude of other possible complications if you choose to stay at home when you feel something is just not right.

It's people like you who should just keep scrolling. Nobody deserves to be talked down to, etc. unless u have advice or words of comfort, trust me, nobody wants to hear from u

What!? No one talked down to you. You were given the consequences of what could happen by getting your info from the internet.

Legally we cannot assess you via phone or internet. If your contractions are increasing in strength or intensity it is imperative you go to the hospital where you are scheduled to deliver to be examined and monitored.

You said yourself that you have gone from one extreme to the other, yet you lashed out at volunteers who gave good advice for free.
Perhaps you need to use medical sites that take payment.

Be a bother. That is what they're there for.

This could be something REALLY serious and your doctors would rather you be a bother and catch something SERIOUS then have you make the judgement call to be not a bother and miss that with DIRE consequences to you and your unborn child.

In short, call your doctor and/or go to the hospital.

Bottom line, and I'll try not to just point out the obvious again, no one online can diagnose what's going on, the only advice and the best advice we can give, is going to your doctor.

You're not a bother to your doctor, especially because he/she is being paid for every visit. A good doctor would rather you come in when it's nothing serious, than risk you staying at home and it ends up being something serious.

This is obviously concerning you enough to seek advice online. This isn't your first baby so you're not a nervous first time mom that thinks every gas bubble is something horrible. You know your body, and if your body is telling you something is wrong, listen to it!

I'm sorry if I was cheeky and a bit sarcastic in my last post. It's no excuse but I've had a very rough week, and I probably shouldn't have posted anything. But the advice I wrote, although it could have been said nicer, is still the same. You cannot and will not get valid answer online from anyone, not even a doctor.
