    Labor signs
Did anyone experience an upset stomach prior to labor or while in labor?
I have had very loose stools for a week now and today when I woke up my stomach was just not right.
One min. it's cramping like a period the next I feel nauseaus or just yucky.
Oh and I'm almost 36 weeks.
    Thanks

I had a girlfriend 20 years ago who came to my house (her hubby was at work) and said that she felt like she had the flu. She thought she was going to vomit and had diarrhea. I phoned the doctor, he said to bring her in just to check. By the time we got to the hospital she was crowning.

Never had an ounce of pain, just stomach upset. Her labor was less than 3 hours.

Wow that makes me more nervous since I live an hour away from my doctors and the hospital.
But at 36 weeks the baby should be OK if she came early right?

At 36 weeks she should be fine. Just make sure they give you a dose or two of betamethasone to insure lung maturity.

I can tell you that with both of my sons, I had loose stools, and also vomiting. With my first son, I didn't start vomiting until in active labor. The second time around, I started vomiting at 8pm, and was in the hospital with at 4-5 cm dilated by 11:30. My son was born at 10:31 am that next day. All in all I was emptying out my stomach all night while in labor with him. They say that the vomiting is a normal part of labor, and I think it has something to do with your bodys reaction to pain. My mom knew with each one of her 5 kids, when they were just about ready to be born, because she would start to vomit. SO, maybe there's something to it. Are you having contractions too?

With my first son I never went into labor on my own and had to be induced, so the second time around was a whole new deal for me.I was pretty crampy for the last month or two. They slowly started getting closer and more intense. Typically I would say " dont worry, you'll know it when you start to have it" but its not always that way for all women. Some women don't even see it coming, and some agonize over it. It all just depends on your body, how big your baby is,etc. you may be one of those women that just feels a bit crampy, and doesn't have a lot of pain. Just keep an eye on your contractions and their timing etc. has your doctor talked to you about what timing you should go into the hospital, since you are an hour away?

No I guess they expect me to know since this is my third lol
I'm trying not to worry too much about it and hoping its not time yet (I'm not ready at the moment) there still so much to do.
I have a doctors appt in the morning so hopefully they will at least check to see if anythings happening if I don't go before then (knock on wood)
I'm having the BH a lot but their not to bad I'm still able move around and get some things done (laundry cooking etc. ) Life doesn't stop...
One min I'm really crampy like I'm on my period then the next I feel the BH.
So far both of my others came at 38 weeks. I was hopeing to make it till then.

Wanted to give everyone an update.
I had a doctors appt today and I was contracting pretty good and was dialated to 2 this morning, so they told me to go home and lie down (not walk ) to try to stay pregnant but their was a really good chance that it was going to be anyday now.
They said that they would not try to stop the labor and more then likely everything should be OK with the baby if she comes now.
So I guess my gut feeling was right.
I'm still contracting and they seem to be getting stronger but I'm going to take it easy and hopefully she will at least wait till Wendesday when I'm 36 weeks.
