    Cat had kittens, when can I move them?
    For some inexplicable reason, she chose to have them in a 4 ft tall fake xmas tree box, fake xmas tree parts and all still inside:eek: . After I heard the meowing, I frantically (but gently) moved the fake tree parts out, and saw she'd delivered in there. The bottom is covered in blood and fluids. It just seems unsanitary, when can I move them to a fresh box? She seems OK having me close, I have also picked up stray ornaments that were left in the bottom by the kittens, she seemed to have no issues with that. And should I keep them in the same place? Any other advice would be well appreciated!

    Ps - couldn't find a category about pets (or didn't try hard enough lol) so please excuse the location if its improperly placed

    You might provide her with a nicer location and she will likely take care of it herself. Place a good sized box nearby, with some clean towels in it, that she can get in and out of easily.

    Haha, better then what happened with mine.

    My cat had her kittens right beside me when I was passed out, mind you I don't really party all that much, after my ex girlfriends 19th. I was on the floor and my cat just currled up beside me and had her kittens, I just rolled over. Haha.

    The other people who woke up due to her horendice noice, I never heard, moved the kittens into a fair size cardboard box. That day, after my cat had cleaned them. The put some towwels in it for softness, and it was big enough for the mother to strech out in and move a bit, and the kittens to you know explore. THe sides should be a little shorter then the mum. So she can jump out easily enough.

    Try not to bother them too much for the first week, just watch them and don't handle them too often. But you can move then, pet them, stroke them get them used to you/ people. Slowly.

    But yes move them into a box you can find, and make it nice and comfy. And congrates on the kittens.
