Can Ferrous Sulf 325 mg tabs make the pregnancy hormone go down?
I was told my baby had died at 7 weeks 4days but when I went for a 2nd opinion I was told my baby is 6 weeks and very small. My pregnanct hormone was 9,128 on a Tuesday then dropped to 6,000 and something on Friday. I was on Ferrous Sulf 325 mg tabs and the Monday after they told me my baby died I went and had a 2nd opinion they said my hormone level was still 6,000 and something and that the baby was 6 weeks. Going Friday to have another hormone test done if its above 6,000 hopefully way above, could the iron pills have something to do with it? Especially since I don't have an Iron Deficincy...

The iron shouldn't play a role in the hcg level. I would see what happens when you go back to have testing done again. You might also ask about having an ultrasound done as well if there is still any question.

I know this is a stressful time for you; hope things go well.

    Comment on DoulaLC's post
I've had 3 ultrasounds done in the first one (Tuesday) they said I was 7 weeks 1 day and said they could see the yolk sac. In the 2nd one (Friday) they said no heart beat my baby dead 7weeks 4 days I didn't see the ultasound very well. The third one (Monday) I went for a second opinion and they said the baby 6 weeks that there was bleeding in my lining but that it was normal and that the baby looked fine that I needed to have my hormones checked this Friday and that I was on bed rest because I may be having a threatened miscarriage. I didn't see that ultasound at all. I am not bleeding or cramping. What I want to know is if there are any medicines that may affect my hormone level anything that can make it fluctuate? Thanks for answering DoulaLC!!

Unless you were taking something that had hcg in it, or hcg itself, there should be no interaction from other medications. Have you been taking anything other than the iron supplement?

Again, since your previous scans were inconclusive, I would ask to have another scan done along with the blood test.
