    Am I Miscarrying?
Hi I am 4 weeks 3 days pregnant but today I've had brown spotting which as the day has gone on has led to more pinky colour, I lost a tiny brown clot, also I had mild stomach pains, I took 4 tests 3 days ago which all said positive, including a clear blue digital one that said also pregnant, however after worrying an losing discharge I took another few tests, some early result one and one I took 3 days ago, also a clear blue digital, however the 2 normal ( non digital analogue ) ones said negative but the clear blue digital says pregnant 1-2 weeks? Why is this and is it that I've miscarried?

If you are pregnant and miscarry, a pregnancy test will be positive for weeks after, the hormone is still in your body even if the baby isn't. So a negative test after a positive, does not indicate miscarriage.

False negatives are very common, especially in early pregnancy, if the test is taken without using first morning urine, or not followed directly. It doesn't matter how much you pay for a test, or what the test proclaims to do, the most reliable time to test is 2 weeks after a missed period, using first morning urine.

Spotting during pregnancy can happen, but any time you spot, or bleed, you should notify your doctor.

Bottom line, we can't tell you if you're pregnant, and we can't tell you if you were and miscarried. That's not possible to diagnose online.

One final note on pregnancy tests. The ones that claim they can tell you how far along you are, are bull. It's not possible. Knowing when your last period was can give you an estimate which is based on the average date of ovulation for the average woman, and an ultrasound can give you an estimate based on the growth of the fetus, but even those can be off by 2 weeks either way, 4 weeks total.

If you're concerned, see your doctor. You really won't find answers online.

    Good luck.

I'm so sorry to hear that. :(

It does happen. I've been there too. Many women have.

Don't let this set you back. There's always next time. Let yourself mourn this loss, let your body heal, and then try again.

Sending best wishes and condolences your way.
