    About my pregnancy
    First day of last period was on or a few days after March 31 2013. On May 4 positive pregnancy test. Went to doc office on May 20th took a sonogram and said that they saw a yolk sac and a little something but they couldn't say that it was the fetal pole. No heartbeat. Said 7 weeks 1 day. By the way cycle is 28 to 30 days and 7 day period. So 8 days later today May 28th they sent me to the hospital for another sonogram. Today yolk sac fetal pole but no heartbeat. Said I am 6 weeks and 5days pregnant. They say I should have a d&c but I have not lost any of my pregnancy symptoms. I think I would like to wait. Thinking something is off and maybe in a week or so that I will see a heartbeat. Is this possiable or am I just hoping for better.

    Normal heartbeat detection isn't until 12 weeks.

    When I was pregnant, I did not get an ultrasound until I was 12 weeks.

    Can you clarify what a d&c is?

    D&C is dilation and curettage, cleaning the uterus out.

    In my practice, we routinely see a fetal heartbeat at approximately 9 weeks with a transvaginal ultrasound.

    I think you should wait to see if you get a heartbeat in a few weeks or pass this on your own.
