    Sand bottom pool floor
    Should the floor of my sand bottom pool be smooth?

    During install the floor should be level and packed smooth. There should be a cove on the side walls for the liner to transition from the floor to the wall. Now over time you will have see lines develop from earth worms etc. Even foot prints from people who jump in and plant there feet. This normal over the years. Some times you can smooth them out some what by your hands. Hope this helps.

Lately when I backwash my above ground pool, the filter blows out sand into the water. What causes this? When backwashing the filter, I turn off the pump, turn the dial to backwash and turn the pump on low. Is the pump supposed to be on during the backwash and rinse cycle?
