I need to winterize the plumbing system in a house. The house has a well and pressure tank.

The pressure tank and hot-water tank are in the attic because the house is on a slab. The well feed line comes in from outside runs up inside a wall to the attic. It then drops down to the level of the pressure tank.

The line has what looks like a pressure release valve then what looks like a bleed valve then the check valve, pressure switch and gauge at the pressure tank, a hose bib and finally a gate valve.

The water line dip that occurs before the check valve concerns me. The bleed valve before the check valve seems to have not only a bleed cap but also a air port like on the pressure tank to fill the bladder.

Can I use this to push the water column back into the well? I am afraid that the water will sit in this low point and cause a problem.

I have drained the hot water tank and the pressure tank of water. Should I depressurize the pressure tank of air too? or can I leave that?

Hoo boy! Have you asked a question. Not only do you have to drain your water pipes,(that's the easy part) but you have to replace the water in every trap under the sink and fill them with anti-freeze or cooking oil. Now pour enough anti-freeze in nthe toilet to make it flush, that empties the trap anr replaces it with antifreeze.To set up your water system, Shut your pump off and open up all the hot and cold faucets in the house. Now attach a hose on the boiler drain of the pressure tank at the pump and drain the water into a floor drain.(Don't forget to pour antifreeze in the floor drain trap). If you have a bladder tank connect to the lowest spot you can. Now do the same thing to your water heater. Your pump has a 1/4" drain plug at the bottom. Drain that too.Leave the faucets open when you leave.

Either that or hook up a air tank and blow it out that way.

If you're asking about a pressure tank the air shoul be all gone along with the water. If you're asking about a bladder tank it's not necessary to bleed the air out.
