City sewer or septic tank? Outside your house next to it is a cleanout. Locate it, remove the cover and let me know if the pipe's full of water? Waiting on you. Regards, Tom

    Hi,
It is city sewer. When we run water in the laundry tub, it does not come up in the floor.

That would make it a local in-house problem. Have hubby run the snake through the floor drain. There's a return bend in the floor drain about 5" down, crank and work your way around it and put out about 15 more feet . Good luck, Tom

They sell hand cranked snakes and snakes that fit on a power drill.(see image). Have hubby run the snake through the floor drain. There's a return bend in the floor drain about 5" down, crank and work your way around it and put out about 15 more feet . Good luck, Tom

Hi, we are having the same problem with a new house that is only 2 years old. My dad already ran the snake through the floor drain and a bunch of goodies from the toilet came out... We haven't checked the city sewer, but what would be the next steps if this is not the cause?

    Thank you

Builder has exposed drain pipe for shower and wash-out drain against wall for vanity, yet no exposed toilet ring in cement floor. Basement toilet drain 14" from wall :( [ 4 Answers ]

Am tackling putting in a bathroom in the basement. Walls are already up, but I noticed now that the center of the drain for the toilet is around 14" from the studs (drywall yet to go on). Is a seemingly simple installation now going to be a more major undertaking? I'm relatively new at this and...

Basement Toilet Flush [ 4 Answers ]

Last year we remodeled the basement and added a bathroom. The toilet drain runs only about 3 feet and empties into an ejector pit with pump, shared by the sink and shower. It seems to work well. However, many times the toilet needs to be flushed 3 times to clear it. Plunging doesn’t really...

Toilet/Washer/Drain in basement [ 4 Answers ]

Hi. I have had continually problems with my toilet (house bult 1960 - could be original toilet - not sure). I have had Roto Rooter out 2 times in 7 years, both times due to clogged sewer line - sewer backed up into basement. My problem is that when I run my washer, my toilet does not flush...

I want to add a bathroom in my basement. I was wondering if I could run my toilet drain into the sump pump hole. ( I have my own septic symstem and the drain leaving the house is 4ft. Above the basement floor). Also, would this need to be vented? The toilet would be about 6 to 8 ft. from the...
