    What to do when my water pressure drops after I repair a break in the line
    I am in city water and everything was OK until my water line was broken by a guy doing yard work. He fixed the line but the pressure has not been sufficient since the break. It runs good for a few minutes but drops off quickly. I have a separate garage and the water pressure is fine in that strucutre. The garage is 75 feet before the house and closer to the source of city water. I have tried cleaning all of the screens on the facuets but it did not help the problem. I do not see a leak anywhere and checked my water meter - it did not advance when all of the water facuets were turned off. I do not know what to do or who to call - any advice would be extremely helpful. Thanks in advance.

    You mean the water pressure is low every where or just in sinks,toilet and shower.

    You say you cleand all the screens mean all the Aerators?

    To be honest with you that is still the other guys problem and I would not accept anything short of him fixing the problem. Did he hire a licensed plumberor cobble it himself. You just don't know if it was done right and what crud he stirred up that is now blocking your lines down stream.

    I cleaned all aerators and the water pressure is low in all areas - outside faucets too. I ran the water in two areas tonight for 15 minutes to see if the issue was an air pocket. Improved a little but still not 100%. Any tips on how to get the possible debris out of the lines? Thanks for your help.

    You would need to remove the cartridges or the stems depends on your faucet and flush out the debris out of the faucets, good luck.

    John just gave you the advice that I was going to. Go to the nearest faucet to where the service enters, shut off the supplies and open it up. Remove the cartridge , place a pan over the valve and turn the supplies back on. Is there a strong stream now? Let me know, Tom
