    Wet Mechanical insulation
We recently had a flood in a crawl space. The water filled the crawl space and the Boiler room with water. My Question is whether to remove and replace the mechanical insulation? PS all mechanical insulation was soaked!

Yes the insualtion should be replaced for several reasons. I believe the most important will be to eliminate the possibility of mold forming in the moist materials.

If left, the wet materials may get deformed and sag from the weight, and leave portions of the mechancial under-insulated at the top of piping and ductwork.

The metal under the wet material will be subjected to corrosion.

It's a commercial building probably 100,000 square feet! With 10,000 feet of pipe... both domestic and hot water heating!
