We have an older hot water tank that is not getting any hot water pressure at all.
A few months ago we had a new water tank put in outside as we have our own well and the bladder went bad in the old water tank. A couple of weeks later we had zero pressure on the hot water thruout our house. The hot water tank inside the house is operating but we can't get any hot water out in any part of our house. The cold water is fine.. with plenty of pressure. When this happened the first time all we did was banged a bit on the hot water line and we also kept the kitchen hot water faucet open and it started again. This has happened a couple of times now and now tonight, it is happening again. This time we can't get it started again. We can feel the hot water tank is hot and is working but we can't get any hot water pressure at all. We have no hot water and we know there is hot water in the tank. We are thinking it had something to do with the changing of the outside water tank as a whole. We have lived here 10 yrs and never had to do anything else with any of our water system at all until all this happened. Now we have no hot water. If anyone can help us figure this out please help us. I am thinking there is some minerals getting stuck somewhere in the lines.. don't know for sure though. We never run out of hot water and we use a lot.. more than the average people as we have show dogs and bath them a lot and just plain run hot water a lot.. I mean a lot.. Please help.

    How I fixed my problem!
I turned off the electric to the heater for safety precaution as you should if a gas hot water heater turn off the gas. Drain the tank then take all lines loose from the top of the tank. (Inlet cold side and outlet Hot side), look inside the pipes coming from the tank and yopu will see a plastic check valve, They tend to get rust in them or frose up. Remove them entirely one on each side. Note: they are a pain in the butt to remove but they will come out. After they are removed reconnect lines and fill. Note: After removing them it took my tank 3 minutes to fill when before it took 2 hours. Pressure is restired sinple fix doesn't cost you $600.00 for a plumber to do it because he won't even tell you that is the problem. All he will you is check please!
