    Water Tap
    Hi there
In my home whenever I shut off my tap after washing my hands or using a flush a weird noise comes out from the pipes (I think) for 5 to 10 seconds and then goes away and it only happens when I shut off tap. Please advice how can I get rid of this or how can I fix it.
    Thanks

Your water pipes make sounds like your vocal cords,

They vibrate & make a noise as water passes through them...

What you are hearing is water hammer. Make sure all the

Pipes are secure and strapped. They make hammer arrestors

For this purpose if nessesary... You may also want to have your

Water pressure coming into the house checked to see if it's too high...

Everything biggie said is true but I do not think it is your problem. Water hammer does last for 5-10 seconds. Can you better describe the noise than just weird?

    Thanks for the reply.
It's like a thin booing or whistling sound and it only last for few seconds (5 or 7) and then vanishes...
Somebody told me that it could be air trapped in your pipes... any suggestions, please

I haven't figured that out yet but can tell you it is not water hammer. That is a onetime thump the moment you close a valve/faucet. You might try shutting down your main and then open a faucet in the lowest part of the house, let the house drain completely and then reopen the main. When you open faucets and valves throughout the house there will be quite a bit of air but that should be gone in less than a minute.Let us know if this eliminated or changes the noise.

When I work on the water in my house -- I turn the water back on slowly

To avoid trapping air or breaking loose particles in lines... Open just a crack

And bleed all lines before applying full pressure... Good idea
