Water splashes out of basement floor drain after upstairs tub is drained
When the bathtub upstairs is drained we get water splashing out of the floor drain in the basement. It seems to be specific to the tub - not sure if it is because of the amount of water draining at once, or some other reason, but we don't have any problems with the toilets, dishwasher or washing machine.

We've had the main drain snaked out several times and a blockage does not seem to be the problem. A camera was put in as well, and we were told that there is a bit of a dip in the pipe where waste can collect but it is probably not worth the cost/effort to fix. The problem occurs when this is clear as well.

Any ideas on what can be causing this?

Was the floor drain snaked out from the drain itself?

Hi all, 2 questions: 1.) I need to connect a basement roughed-in 2 inch drain to a whirlpool tub. I believe that I can use 1 1/2 inch cheap sink drain to attach to the 2 inch drain. It appears to be really easy to configure. I will use the same for my shower drain? 2.) Can I fill in...

I have a second floor restroom at my workplace and there is a little bit of water backing up and some sewer gas smell. We have a cast iron basement floor drain with no valve to prevent backflow. Can you put such a valve in an iron pipe and, if so, would I have to go to a plumbing specialty store to get one? The ones at Home Depot are only meant for plastic pipe. If I have to convert to plastic, what is the best...

I have a floor drain in the basement which appears to be dried out. When I put water down the drain it just sat there for a couple of days before drying out.
