Water runs in kohler toilet tank
    Hi there,

I installed a Kohler toilet last night. Everything is working great, no leaks, and the toilet is operational. The only issue I'm having right now is that in the tank, periodically there is some water running. It is not a constant run. So I will be in the bathroom, or a nearby room, and from time to time (say once every 10 to 20 minutes) I will hear some water swooshing in the tank for about 3 or 5 seconds. I figure I must just have to adjust or tighten something but I'm not sure what to touch first. The model of the toilet is K-4197 and the tank is K4436. The internal mechanism in the tank is different than what I've seen in past toilets, so I didn't want to play around without some guidance first. Any thoughts or comments?

I should add a note that I have not been sitting by the toilet with a stopwatch, but I have not noticed the filling (or whatever action is occurring) happen for quite some time today since I've asked this question. I work from home, and my office is across a hallway from the bathroom and the new toilet, so if it was frequent, I would have noticed at some point. So now I ask is there any kind of initial feeling out that the toilet might have been going through to get to a point where it fills properly and everything gets sealed properly, and perhaps it may simply have taken up until this time to get worked out? I know it doesn't learn the fill level, but you know what I mean... right? :)

Sounds like your flapper is not sealing 100%. Did you set the chain on the flush arm to have some slack, slight sag? The chain can not be taught

Water trickling inside Kohler pressure assist toilet. [ 2 Answers ]

My Kohler model 811000 (Pressure Clean) Flushometer toilet sounds like water is trickling somewhere but I can't see it. It does not appear to be going into the bowl and there's nothing in the china tank or on the floor. Can it be leaking down the drain without entering the bowl? How do I stop it?
