Water pressure switch for above ground pump.
My pressure switch is shot. The points look to be burnt. I have filled them on several occasions and it continued to work. Now they doesn't seem to work, so I plan to replace the switch.
Which size pressure switch do I need?
    20/30, 20/40, 30/50 or 40/60 ?
    What determines the size switch?
    Thanks,
    Wellcarolina

The average is 20/40 but some folks prefer a little more pressure so they install 30/50
    What determines the size switch?
Your needs. A three story house will need more pressure to supply the upper floors them a one story house. Also the frequency of use. If more then one fixture is being used you'll want the volume and pressure to cover the use. It's up to the individual. Good luck and thanks for ratinng my answer. Tom

WC, while you are at it, do yourself a favor and replace the little pipe that runs to the switch. They clog easily and it is nice to have a new one sitting there in case it's needed.
