    Water from faucet and shower
I have a question about my shower. I have a HOT and COLD cutoff valve and a shutoff valve for my shower head. When I turn on my shower I still get an excessive amount of water coming from the bottom spout and not good pressure from the shower head. It has been a couple of years since I changed the stems could this be the problem.

    Thanks,

    Joe

Does this translate to a three knob shower valve with the diverter in the center? (see image) or do mnyou have a one handled valve with the diverter in the spout? Let me know. Regards. Tom

    HI Tom,

Yes this is exactly what it is. What do you think could be the problem. I am thinking that the diverter valve is not closing all the way.

Pull the diverter stem and washer assembly. Replace any washers that are worn or look used. Now check the seat It should have no nicks or rough spots. If you find any then replace the seat. Good luck, To,

I woke up to hot water running in my bathroom tub. Turning the faucet on and off did nothing to stop it. It was not running "full blast" but was a steady stream. The only way to stop it was to turn off the hot water tank. What would cause this? A malfunction in the faucet or is something else...
