Waste water back in from septic will a siphon break solve it
Hello, My septic tank backed up and sewage went into my drain hose in the washing machine and ruined it. I bought a siphon breat how will that stop sewage fronm getting in to the washing machine? Shouldn't I use a back flow protector instead?

    Thanks, Ed [email protected]

If it's possible to install one, I'd suggest installing a 'Backwater valve' in an accessible location somewhere between where the waste pipe exits the house and where it enters the septic tank.

You have an larger problem and a vent, siphon, or backwater check valve won't solve it.
It sounds to me like your drainfield's failing and backing up into your septic tank causing your problem.
You need to open up the tank outlet manifold. If it's loaded up with liquid then you have a drain field that must be serviced. Good luck, Tom

I agree with both posts but your main issue is that the tank is overflowing. A septic tank should not do this unless it has been really over taxed by veryt large amounts of water being drained into the tank rapidly. A friend di this by siphoning his hot tub to a floor drain. A field tile can't take 300 gallons of water in 15 minutes. Have you been doing anything along this line or tons of wash? I'd have a septic company come out and do an inspoection and a pumping. How long sionce your last pump?
