    A very draining problem!
    Hi,

    We just moved into our new double-wide manufactured home which is 5ft off the slab. My husband had to add the supplied piping for all water and sewer lines which was no big deal. The problem is... our tub takes FOREVER to drain! Someone came out and checked the P traps which they said was okay. Please point us in a direction.

    I think we'll need some more information on this. When you say you had to add piping for water and sewer do you mean you connecting the tub drain to a drain somewhere on the slab?

    I guess the basics first... How big of a drain pipe goes from the tub to wherever it connects? 1 1/2 inches, 2 inches? What sort of pitch does that drain have? i.e.. Is it running up hill :) and finally where is the vent for this drain located? I assume the house had venting for the pipe somewhere.

    A little more info would help.

    Hey Karen,

    As someone who has worked as a plumber in mobile home plants I might have a better take on your problem then the average bear.
    They checked the "P"trap but did they run a snake down the tubs drain line to see if it was clear? Does the tub gurgle a lot when drained? In a trailer factory we're pushed to make time. Sometimes we get careless and let a chunk of particle board fall in the drains. I don't know about now but back in the 70's when the trailers rolled out of the factory the plumbing was never water checked. The first time water and sewer was hooked up is when they moved and set up the trailer in a mobile home park.
    Run a snake down the drain lin and let me know. Tom
