    Utility room drain
The drain in our utility room is backing up. It is supposed to drain condensation from our A/C unit . We are on we'll and septic and are beginning to see signs of the well being low. The toilets are easily backing up and hard to plunge and we hear water spurting sounds in the shower and from the water coming into the washing machine. How do we fix the drain and does it have to do with the well?

Let's work on the drainage first. Here's a few things to check. Open up the house cleanout and flush the toilet a few times. Does the water back up in the clean out? If you can open up a inspection port on the septic tank is the water level above the inlet? Let me know if your septic system's working so we can move on. Back to you, Tom

Purpose and removal of drain in utility room [ 2 Answers ]

I have a drain on the floor of the utility room that backed up when the main drain was clogged. It was a mess, needless to say! Why does the utility room have this drain? My washer drains directly into the utility sink. And is it possible to close or remove it from the drainage system so I can...

Smell in utility room [ 4 Answers ]

Over the last two months we have had a rotten smell coming out of our utility room. We know it is not our drier or our washing machine and there are no leaks around any of the connecting pipes. We have also checked the u-bend under the sink as well as the dishwasher outlet pipe and are mystified. A...
