Told too close to water tank by city low pressure
How high is that water tower? The average water tower's is 100 feet high and the average city pressure's approximately 45 PSI. The head pressure of water is .433 pounds per foot of head. Do you live in a city that only has a 35 foot water tower? It's the city responsibility to furnish its water customers with water they can use. 15 PSI isn't water that you can use. Even if their tower was only 35 feet high they would have to have a pumping station to raise the pressure in the mains to be usable. Since you will take your water off a city main , telling you that you live too close to the water tower just doesn't make sense. Something doesn't add up here and if I were you I'd get some answers. And when you do please let me know. To answer your question, you would have to treat that 15 pounds like a well and install a shallow well pump and a bladder tank to furnish your house with pressure. Keep me in the loop on this, it's a new one on me. Regards, Tom

Tank Pressure vs Pump Cut Out Pressure for Well [ 1 Answers ]

I am trying to increase my water system pressure to the minimum required 40 PSI to feed my reverse osmosis drinking water filter. However, the 33 gallon pressure tank for my well pump system says it is pre-charged at 30 PSI and that the cut in pressure for my pump should be set equal to that 30...

New pressure tank? [ 1 Answers ]

I recently had my well pump replaced. Ever since, the pump kicks in after a gallon or two of water use. I called the well pump installer immediately when we noticed the problem (which did not exist until he came out to replace the pump), but he won't show up to check it out. Kidnapping him and...

My old gage has some water on the inside of the dial, and I need to change it. There's no shut off valve on the line coming in from the water pump to the tank so ill have to turn the pump off and drain the tank to replace the gage. I believe my tank has an air bladder because there's a valve on top...
