    Toilet tank not filling
Got a mystery here: I just moved into a new house and the toilet tank in the 2 piece bath on the main floor is suddenly not filling.

I unscrewed the feed line into the tank and tested to see if there is water flowing through it and there isn't. The sink taps both work fine - just no water into the toilet.

I'm assuming I'll have to call in a plumber, but I thought I would check here first.

Ther's something blocking the branch that supplies the toilet. I would shut the water off at the house stop and ope4n up the chrome angle stop. Clean out the seat and hold a pan over the open valve while4 someone turns the water back on for a minute to flush out the branch. You should have a full stream before you reassemble the angle stop. Good luck

Where are you located? Sounds like UK and on a gravity feed system?

Toilet not filling [ 5 Answers ]

I recently had my house re-plumbed because of polybutylene (spelling?) leaks. I was very happy with the results except for one thing. The toilet in the master bath, when flushed, doesn't seem to drain completely. Water comes into the tank and right as the waste leaves the bowl, the water stops...

Toilet filling with hot water [ 3 Answers ]

Recently, our toilet has been occasionally filling with hot water instead of cold. This primarily happens when the toilet hasn’t been flushed in a few hours (such as first thing in the morning). As we continue to flush, the water goes from hot to warm to cold, and the flushes stay cold until the...

Tank not filling [ 7 Answers ]

Got a weird one. I have a toilet with (I think) a FluidMaster type float. Its got to be more than 10 years old. Anyway, yesterday it stopped filling the tank. If I twist the bottom slightly then the tank will fill, but after flushing it doesn't fill again. So its getting water through the...

Slow filling toilet cistern [ 5 Answers ]

Hi, we have a push button toilet which has just started to fill really slowly. Inside, there looks like there's a plastic arm with one end stopping a jet of water and the other end pivoting on the float. The end that stops the jet of water is hissing water out of the top whilst there's just a...

Toilet Cistern Not Filling [ 6 Answers ]

Today a neighbour was having some plumbing work done in his house, he wasn't sure which was his Stop **** so he turned ours off as a process of elimination. Not a problem. He turns it off and our water stops, turns it back on again and the water works again, surprise, surprise. A short time...
