Chances are you could have something lodged in the toilet trap.

This may sound obvious, but sometimes a child may flush a toy down the toilet, or I have known those little deoderizers that clip on the side of a toilet bowl to get stuck in a toilet trap and be difficult to plunge or even snake.

Just plunge, plunge plunge... if that doesn't work, try a snake, if no luck, you might have to remove the toilet and investigate further.

Bear in mind, that low flow toilets might take a couple of flushes to remove solid waste. Don't load too much toilet paper in a single flush.

Also confirm that nothing is backing up in the sewer line, make sure everything is good in that department, lines are properly vented, etc.

How we test for a object lodged in the toilets trap is to flush a few LARGE wads of TP downand see if it starts to back up. If it does we go after the clog with a closet auger, (see image). Good luck, tom
