    Tiling a wet shower floor
    Are there any special tiles I should use for a wet shower floor

    Hi Thomas:

    I am assuming that you want to tile a shower floor... yes?

    If so, just about any tile will work for you, but you will need to use tiles smaller or equal to 3" or so. Tiles any larger can lead to difficulty in matching the pitch required for shower floors to drain properly. Depending on the size of the shower... say really big... then you may be able to use slightly larger tile... but smaller simply looks better... my opinion.

    Others here may have other ideas as well so give them a little while to chime in on this as well... ok?

    Otherwise, if I misunderstood you... let me know what it is you are trying to do.

    Mark is right in saying to use small tiles. The larger they are, the harder they are to work with in a shower. Make sure to have the proper slope as well.
    Personally, I love the look and feel of glass tile on the floor, but the type of tile I would NOT use is stone, as it is way too porous for a shower.
    Also, don't use premixed mortar in a shower, as it will revert back to it's original form (wet) if/when it's ever exposed to water. If possible, go with a non-sanded epoxy grout for the floor, then you won't have to worry about sealing it. If epoxy grout sounds too daunting, at least go with a non-sanded grout and keep the grout lines 3/16" or less.
