Is there such a thing as a 4" exit out of a toilet bowl
My toilet clogs after the goose neck where fecal matter exits into the 4" sewer line. The auger won't go through the bowl and clear the clog at the exit. I'm being told that something's stuck, it sure is and it's not pleasant. Is there a toilet that has a 4" exit hole?

Nope, no toilet with a 4" exit hole....almost all have 2" hole in toilet base.

If the auger snake will not go through the bowl to the exit, I would suggest removing the toilet and setting it on its side to try to snake the drain that way. Snake the toilet from the bowl out and from the toilet bowl outlet back in toward the bowl... make sense? In this way, you should be able to dislodge whatever it is that is stuck in the toilet. Worst case, you can't clear the blockage and you'll need to purchase a new toilet. Try snaking the bowl from both sides... should clear most blockages!

The 5' auger you are using should work. Be patient. Keep turning the auger while pushing it in in-ward direction. If unsuccessful, dismount toilet form the floor, flip it over and remove obstacle using toilet exit hole.

Today's residential toilets have 2" trap and 2" exit hole. You could install commercial toilet - as suggested above - but I don't think this simple problem you have warrants such a major toilet upgrade. Beside the cost of new commercial toilet, its installation, including modification of existing plumbing system to accept such toilet - is way too costly.

These stubborn blockages don't happen too often. If you cannot clear it yourself, call Roto Rooter, and they will clean it for you in no time

    Hope that helps

    Hdcnyc,
I've had very good luck with several models of American Standard toilets including the Vormax & Champion 4. These models feature a fully glazed 2 3/8 inch trapway and the exit hole or horn is often 2.5 inches in diameter...
