Add a self contained vent. I believe Studor company and many others make this product. They have been used in Mobile Homes for years. It allows air in but will not allow sewer gas out.

    Hi Phyllis Jane,

For island installations we use a loop vent. This consists of a drain line that runs from a stack vent to the island and loops up and back to the vent stack. The sink picks up from a stubout located in the vertical section of the drain side of the loop. Another way would be to take a drain line off the stack vent over to the island and elbow up to a te, stub out from the tee and install a AAV,(air admittance vent) on top of the tee. Either way, this is not a do it yourself project. Unless you have plumbing experience you're going to need one. Regards, Tom
