This faucet is in my shower.
I believe the shower sides are some type of marble.

The shower head has a drip... approx 10 seconds between drip.

I want to repair... but would rather replace as I do not like the
Way this faucet operates.

The only way to get hot water is to open faucet completely.

Can these type of faucets be changed from the shower side or do
You have to tear out sheet rock on opposite side ?

That is a constant flow single handle mixing valve. You can move the scald ring to get hotter water with it not turned all the way left but you will use the same amount of water. Not sure how it was installed but with working clearance, I would believe it is best to come in from the drywall side.

You must first identify what you want and go from there. The design you have may be compatible with many different designs or hard ware... the knobs, and handles etc.

Find the style you prefer and post a picture, and maybe we can suggest a plan. Just fixing the drip, or adjusting the temperature control, is not so hard or expensive. Depending on your style change though that could be.

I would still use a single knob design... but would prefer the type I had at my other house. (Moen)

The knob could be turned to Hot or Cold without water coming out.
Then you would pull to get water.

You will be surprised, but most of the faucets today work exactly the same as yours. It is the Code requirement.

It is very simple to fix the leak. You just replace cartridge. If you call Delta, they may even send you one free of charge. Takes 2 minutes to install it - and you are set for the next 10 years

Yes... surprised you have to turn on the water full blast to get hot water.
Do not understand that code requirement.

I've contacted Delta and they will send a cartridge.

Actually, with the newer low flow heads, you seem to need more water flow. However, the current EPA Water Sense code is 2.0 GPM for faucets and showers. Does not apply to tub faucets. You can buy double handle faucets but they are limited at 2.5 GPM by a restrictor in the spout.
Under your handle is an anti scald ring set at the factory.

Just to update...

Received new cartridge from Delta in 3 or 4 days.

Image of old cartridge as it came out with trash on cold inlet.

That cartridge has some serious millage on it. Also, I see some debris sticking out of right water inlet. I am sure you will see big difference once new cartridge is installed
