Why does my pump start running when no water is being used?
It does not do it every five minutes or anything like that, but it will run when no water is in use. How do I solve this problem

The pump is controlled by a pressure switch to turn on and off. Once the pump raises the tank pressure to a certain psi it shuts off. However, your tank slowly looses pressure somehow, maybe a slow leak some where or more likely blow back of the water through the pump. When the pressure lowers enough it triggers the pump to turn on. Nothing to worry about unless it does this every 5 minutes
