Hello. I pulled out cartridge in the tub yesterday and was happy to see water will come out. I'm waiting on moen to send knob and I'm going to home depot to buy new cartridge. They said only get theirs and not a universal one. First, is that really necessary? ( it's a 2255- or something like that) Also, while waiting on knob... will we be able to use shower and bath with just cartridge in?

Moen guarantees their parts for the life of the faucet. Call and request one.

Wow! A cartridge that fits Moen, Delta, Kohlor Ect. . I didn't know that they made a " fits all cartridge" Could you furnish more information on this such as a brand name?

Also, while waiting on knob... will we be able to use shower and bath with just cartridge in?

Yes! Simply use an pair of pliers to pull out and turn the stem.

Thanks, Tom!! Also, I looked for a universal cartridge and didn't see the right model. Morn said don't get a universal model of the 1225 because even though home depot will say it fits, it won't. Anyway, I didn't see one anyway so bought the morn one for 20 bucks. Also, I told them I bought my home with the fixture in already so they said no warranty. He was nice though and is still sending knob free: 0) Thanks again for your reply!! ~Randi
