New Faucet Installation - Knocking Sound
Recently my husband and friend installed a newly bought faucet in the kitchen sink. This is a center, one handle faucet where you can move from hot to cold. When it was first installed you could hear a slight knocking sound every few seconds. The knocking sound has now increased and knocks more or less depending on how high or low you set the water stream to flow. Please advise on how they can fix this issue or what is causing this problem. Thank you.

Make sure that the supply valves are all the way open and other pipes are tight to surfaces!

Turn supply valves all the way on and check for debris in supply lines.

This "knocking " sound? Does it come from the valve itself or from the pipes? Tom

The knocking sound has gotten increasingly worse. Think it may be the valve, and there is water leaking from the cold water hose line too. Water is now pulsating while knocking.

Sounds like the diverter's vibrating as the water rushes by. As a rule the diverter's located in the front of the valve under the spout. To tell you more I'll have to know the brand name of the faucet you installed. Regards, Tom

The diverter's located located behind the spout.(see image). The diverter's 951-050.If you have a PF faucet that the spout pulls out let me know. Shut the water off to the valve and remove the handle, the cap and pull up on the spout to get at the diverterter . Any trash under there you can clean out? Now turn the valve on,place a pan over the valve and turn the water back on to flush out the valve body. Reassemble and test. Better now? Good luck, Tom

I'm encountering the same thing from a new faucet (Delta); never before. It's "NEW" so it's getting replaced! ;-)

I'm in the same boat as PJ -- brand new Delta faucet, knocking sound, and yes I can see the water stream pulse when it knocks.
