I am planning on remodeling my kitchen to include new cupboards, range, dishwasher and kitchen sink. My question has to do with the piping of the new kitchen sink. I presently have a standard above counter stainless steel double bowl sink with a depth of approximately 7-71/2 inches. I am wanting to install an under counter mounted bowl that has a bowl depth of 9 inch. This will lower my p-trap and all other piping 2". Will this cause me a problem with draining etc. if I use the existing discharge pipe where it is now located.? On the existing 7 inch drop sink the tee that joins the 2 sinks in the middle is approximately 3" higher that the discharge pipe. If I have to lower everything 2" that will only leave everything approximately 1" above the discharge pipe. Will this still drain properly or will it cause me a problem? All things considered if everything measures out theoretically with the differences in these two sinks. What happens all said and done, if the new sink piping ends up lower than the discharge drain line because of the difference in manufacture of the two sinks? Will this cause a problem in draining?

You were doing just great until you came up with that. If that happens you're into major surgery. The cabinet will have to come out. The wall will have to be opened up and the stubout lowered to accommodate the sink drain. My advice? Make very sure of your measures before you start tearing things apart. Good luck, Tom,
