Shower was leaking from handles/I replaced and now it won't work
I purchased a replacement kit for a shower with leaking handles. I made sure to buy the same bonnets and seats. I changed everything out. Now it does not work at all. No water comes out of the shower head. The diverter does not leak at all but the water comes out of the shower handles only. I have no idea what to do and I do not know what could be causing this!! Help:confused:

Please give us the brand name of your shower valve. Did you remove the shower head to make sure it wasn't clogged?
You say,"The diverter does not leak at all but the water comes out of the shower handles only."
Please explain, are you saying that after replacing the stem and washer assemblies that you still have the same problem?
Before we can help we need more details. Tom

My shower has the standard 3 (not sure of brand) valve set up. All of the valve handles are very hard to turn and I am wondering is there a way of loosening any part of the stems to reduce the tension? I am not sure but I think a long time ago I read that when the stems are installed in a closed...

Replaced shower drain [ 1 Answers ]

Hi, I just cut a hole in my ceiling and replaced the shower drain. I used a plumber's putty on the top and locked in the washer on the bottom. Should I have used sealant at any spot on the install, or is the putty sufficient? After a day or so, I was able to tighten the nut more; is there...

Replaced Shower valve problem [ 2 Answers ]

This SHOULD have been simple... I replaced HOT and COLD valves and the DIVERTER on 2 showers. They were old and needed to go. Great care was taken to match and get the proper replacements. The COLD on each shower works well. The HOT leaks out the center post a bit in each shower. The...

Hi, I will apologize up front for my lack of knowledge in plumbing... but I know enough that I believe that I can fix this problem without having to add on the expense of calling a plumber. I noticed that there were a lot of ants coming into our bathroom. After laying traps and having no...
