    Sewer pipe leak
    Recently I have noticed that when our dish washer drains a small amount of water seeps up along the wall in the basement in an area 2 to 36 inches to where the drain pipe goes into the concrete in the basement.

    I have two questions:

    1. I can only assume that this is caused either from a broken pipe or clogged pipe under the concrete. What is your opinion?

    2. If this is a broken sewer pipe and being a person that is not afraid to tackel a project, is chipping up the concrete, repairing or replacing the elbow and renewing the concrete with a patch all there is to this, OR is there more?

    The first thing you must do is locate and open up the cleanout. If you have standing water then the line's blocked and must be snaked and cleared, if not then the pipe has a crack or a faulty joint.

    That's it! All you have to do is take up the cement, repair or replace and patch. Good luck, Tom

    I have water stand in the soil around my outside sewer clean out, there seems to be no water standing in the pipe
