    Sewer Gas Smell
I have been noticing a sewer gas smell coming from a bedroom in the front of our house, adjacent to a second bath. There is no smell whatsoever in the bathroom. About two years ago we had our main sewer line replaced when we found out it had cracked on the property line. Also we just completed a floor project in this bedroom. First, where do we begin to look to find this smell, and should we replace the seal before we call back the plumbing company? Thanks for any information on this repair

Also we just completed a floor project in this bedroom.

Please explain. Did it have anything to do with drainage? Regards, Tom

As of today, there is no visible leaks from inside. We looked down into the outdoor trap and flushed the two toilets. It looked to flow fine also. I am concerned that the tub has always been a problem, we replaced the valve stem after discovering it had leaked prior to the floor improvement. Luckily, it was discovered in time before a major water repair had occurred. We are checking today from the pipes on the roof to access if the sewer smell is anywhere else. For the moment it comes from the bedroom adjacent to the bath.

3 months ago, we tiled 1 of 2 of our bathrooms, which included removing the toilet and replacing it after the tile was laid.
