    Rough plumbing in a slab
I want to install a tub with a center drain, in the basement of my house. We have done the rough plumbing and will soon pour the slab. My plumber tells me that I can not buy a tub with a center drain because of the slab. Is this true? If not how should I set the rough plumbing.

Are you planing a whirlpool tub with a center drain? Why a center drain?
I don't think your plumber was referring to the "slab" as a reason. I think he roughed for a conventional tub and just don't want to change it. However, if the slab hasn't been poured then you may place the drain anywhere you wish. Be sure you have the rough in specs for the center drain tub first.
When we rough for a tub we position the stub up from the trap 15 1/2" off the side wall plate and 1 5/8 " in from the front wall plate. Good luck, Tom
