    Reduce shower pump noise
I have just had a bath removed and a shower installed and had to have a pump installed to give me a decent shower. We have a low pressure hotwater tank system (according to plumber) and we needed the pump to power the bar mixer shower. Every time I turn on the shower there is a large hummmm from the pump. Is this normal?
I asked my plumber and he says its normal. When the airing cupboard is open the noice is less and the plumber says cupboard is acting like a speak so to say and making the noice louder.
Is there anything that could help reduce the noise?
The pump is a stuart turner techflo 1.5bar pump like this one
    Thanks

You can reduce a lot of noise with simple and cheap foam padding at the base and discharge and inlet lines, or the pump itself. I don't know how yours is mounted, so it's hard to see any ways that can cut down on the vibrations against other structures, but your plumber is basically right as ANYTHING can amplify the noise a pump makes.

A picture would be great. Barring that though insulating the lines and pump and possibly the airing cupboard in some way might help. Please let us know, or if you have more info please share it.
