    Recycling lost well water
I am on a well and I have a leaky shower. I am saving the water in a container but want to recycle it somewhere else. Can I pour this water into the back of my toilets and use it that way or will that do any damage? If this is an option, should I keep my toilets turned on or off?

Trying to use what's dripping out is not the way to go. Why not just fix the dripping shower?

    Hi Shannon,

Rick gave you excellent advice. Fix the leak. But that wasn't your question was it? You asked if it would hurt if you recycled the water through the toilet tank and used to flush your toilet. To put water in the tank, shut off the supply to the toilet and if you're going to flush by pouring it in the bowl you may leave the supply on.
No, it would not hurt to fill your tank with the reclaimed water.
Now, let's look at your shower valve. One handle or two knobs? Leaking from the hot or cold side? What's the brand name of the valve and how old is it? Let's get that leaK fixed and get things back to normal. Tom
